The location of the cottages was absolutely stunning, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast had a good variety of options to cater to dietary needs.
The rooms could have been cleaner and more up-to-date, with some guests mentioning tired and dirty conditions. There were also issues with the beds and bedding, and some guests reported problems with the bathrooms, such as blocked toilets.

Our stay at The Grainary Cottages was worth every penny. The room was clean, spacious, and beautifully furnished. The location was peaceful, with countryside walks nearby, yet just a short drive from the city. The staff, especially Rachel, were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Plus, our furry friend loved the animal-friendly atmosphere!
Hotel breakfast could use some improvement. The bathroom mirror was fitted for tall people, leaving shorter guests with a view of the top of their heads.

The bathroom facilities were well-equipped and convenient for any guest, regardless of ability. The parking was easy and there was plenty of space near the cottages. I also appreciated the presence of multiple televisions, ensuring that everyone had their own entertainment options.

Booked for 3 adults and 2 dogs for a 7-night stay. The cottage was spotless and well-appointed with wonderful views. Excellent location for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and the coast. Helpful owner and friendly farm animals nearby. Homemade food was delicious with generous portion sizes. Cottage felt like a home away from home with all the necessary amenities. Idyllic location and we'll definitely be back.

We booked for 7 nights at Grainary Cottages for a family trip and it was perfect. The bright and airy cottage had everything we needed, including thoughtful touches like tin foil and a pan scrubber. The beds were super comfy and the surroundings were stunning, with endless fields and friendly animals. The location, though secluded, allowed for easy access to Whitby and other nearby attractions. We're already planning our next visit!
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

The cottages were beautifully modern and contemporary, providing a comfortable and stylish stay. the staff were friendly and approachable, making us feel right at home. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with delicious cakes, and there were plenty of activities for families, including small animals and play areas for children. the location was picturesque, with stunning views and country walks nearby.
The location was a bit further from the main attractions than expected, and the dark country lanes made it a bit difficult to navigate at night. some of the rooms were fully occupied, so availability was limited during busy periods.

The staff were friendly and provided great service. the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. the food was tasty and the eggs were fresh. the location was beautiful and provided stunning views. the play area was fun for children and the animals were a delight to watch.
The hotel was closed during Christmas and New Year, which was disappointing. It would have been special to spend the holiday season there.
